Code of Conduct
Introduction
The Music Teachers’ Association of NSW (MTA NSW), together with our members, is responsible for creating a safe and nurturing environment for children and young people. This Code of Conduct for Working with Children (Code) outlines the standards of behaviour and professional conduct for persons working with children in MTA NSW and provides a clear understanding of how to carry out the important music teaching work of MTA NSW in a professional, safe, supportive, and nurturing way.
The Code applies to, and must be signed, by all teachers, employees, volunteers, and contractors who have, or are expected to have, contact with children. In addition to signing The Code, all teachers are required to obtain a Working With Children Check (WWCC) certificate as part of the requirements of membership of MTA NSW.
