Garry Barker

Garry is an accomplished bagpipe player and teacher. 

He recently placed third overall in the NSW State Open Grade solo contest aggregate and has many solo and band successes to his credit, including a Gold Medal for classical bagpipe music (known as piobaireachd).

Garry is able to help his students create music from their instruments, while many find it difficult to create anything much better than basic bagpipe sounds.

His teaching techniques are based on thorough engagement at the musical level with his pupils, as well as basic principles of mutual respect and that learning music should be a fun experience.
