2025 Junior Music Festival Newcastle

2025 Junior Music Festival Newcastle

The 2025 Junior Music Festival Newcastle will be held on Sunday, June 22.

Location: Adamstown Uniting Church, Adamstown

Junior Music Festivals offer young music students the opportunity to perform in a friendly, relaxed and encouraging environment. They are held in various locations throughout Sydney and also Newcastle and Wollongong. They are open to students of both members and non-members of the MTA.

Instead of being divided into age groups, Junior Music Festivals are divided into sections by the grade/ability of the performer. This means that all participants have a chance to shine and even win prizes, even late beginners. Any recognised Exam board grading system is acceptable.

Trophy prizes are awarded in all sections, with all participants receiving a Certificate of Participation and a report from the adjudicator.  Entrants must be aged 18 years and under as at 31 July. They may enter for more than one venue. (See Junior Music Festival Terms & Conditions for further details).

About the Adjudicator

Paoley Li began learning piano at the age of seven and holds an A.Mus.A, L.Mus.A, and B.Mus.A in piano performance, along with a Master of Teaching in Music Education. She was part of the Conservatorium of Music’s Access Program as a child and her musical journey has included performances overseas and with the UNSW Orchestra.

Paoley also played a key role in organising the Sydney International Kawai Piano Festival, which gave students the chance to perform for internationally renowned professors including the late John Perry and Robert McDonald.

When she's not teaching piano at The King’s School or in her private studio, Paoley performs as a violinist and vocalist at weddings and is an active member of the Adult Glee Club.
