
2025 Newcastle Errol Collins Award
The Music Teachers’ Association of NSW, Newcastle Committee, presents the 2025 Newcastle Errol Collins Award.
Open to Violin and Viola students residing in the Newcastle, Hunter, Upper Hunter, Central Coast, Mid-North Coast or New England Regions of NSW.
Junior Award - The Junior Award is open to students who are currently studying and presenting works from any early grade level up to and including Grade 6 AMEB level, or equivalent. Maximum age limit of 18 years at the time of the Award performance.
Junior - Sunday 24 Aug 1.30 pm
Senior Award - The Senior Award is open to students who are currently studying and presenting works from Grade 7 AMEB level or above (or equivalent). Maximum age limit of 21 years at the time of the Award performance.
Senior - Saturday 24 Aug approximately 2.30 pm
About the Adjudicator
Eleanor is principal cellist and co-director of the Australian Session Orchestra, and founder of Sydney-based Radu Cello Ensemble. She freelances with the Opera Australia Orchestra and Queensland Symphony Orchestra as well as chamber music groups across the east coast. A regular at Trackdown Studios, she frequently records for Film, TV, and Game soundtracks. In demand as a teaching artist and conductor, she also works with the music department at Cranbrook School in Sydney.
